Conn graduated from Auburn University with a bachelor’s degree in accountancy in 1985. He is the Global Chief Operating Officer – Quality, Risk, and Regulatory for KPMG International. In this role, he plays a critical role in monitoring the quality of services across all of KPMG’s businesses, establishing and overseeing compliance with risk management policies and protocols, and ensuring trusted and respectful relationships with the regulatory community around the world. In his previous position, he served as Global Head of Audit Methodology and Implementation and partner-in-charge of KPMG’s Global Services Centre-Audit, and served on KPMG’s Global Audit Steering Group, which oversees the audit business for KPMG international and its member firms. He also previously served in a variety of roles in KPMG’s national office and served clients in its Birmingham, Nashville, and Silicon Valley offices.
In 2014, Conn completed a three-year term as a member of the Public Company Accounting Oversight Board’s (PCAOB) Standing Advisory Group (SAG) and from 2006 to 2009, served on the U.S. Auditing Standards Board. He has served on and chaired a number of task forces of the AICPA and the Center for Audit Quality.
He serves on the Harbert College of Business Campaign Committee and is an emeritus member of the College’s Advisory Council and the School of Accountancy’s Advisory Council.
He is a member Auburn’s 1856 Society, the Tigers Unlimited Foundation’s Shug Jordan Society, the James E. Foy Loyalty Society for consecutive-year giving, a life member of the Auburn Alumni Association, a Diamond Member of its Circle of Excellence, and a past member of its board of directors.
He is married to Alicia Murray Conn, a two-time accountancy graduate who earned a bachelor’s in 1984 and master’s in 1986. They have three daughters: Katie, Emily, and Caroline.
