Heston completed a bachelor’s degree in business administration and accountancy at Auburn in 1985 and immediately began his 30-year practice of public accounting with Ernst & Young LLP. He became a certified public accountant in 1988, was admitted as a partner in 2000, and currently coordinates the firm’s matching gifts campaign benefiting Auburn.
In 2007, Heston received the Outstanding Alumnus Award from Auburn’s School of Accountancy and began his current service on its Advisory Council. Heston is the past president of the Atlanta Chapter of the Georgia Society of CPAs, and he volunteers his time in support of several Atlanta-based charities focused on youth, missions, and the underserved.
He is a life member of the Auburn Alumni Association, an alumnus and past chapter treasurer of Sigma Nu’s Beta Theta Chapter, and a member of Auburn’s James E. Foy Loyalty Society and the Samford Society. He is married to Mary Grace Heston and together they have six children — two of whom anticipate graduating from Auburn in 2016.
