Donnellan graduated from Auburn in 1976 with a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering. He later earned an MBA in finance from the Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania in 1978.
He is a principal and founding member of Vulcan Value Partners. Donnellan has more than 30 years experience in finance and investment valuation analysis. Prior to joining Vulcan Value Partners, he worked for Southern Company, acquiring power facilities for the company’s wholesale power subsidiary. Previously, he served as a member of the senior management teams of several closely held and private equity portfolio companies. He also has served as chief financial officer for the power and real estate subsidiaries of Harbert Corporation, a privately held investment company, and was involved as a director of investments for Harbinger, the firm’s entry into the investment management business. In addition, he has held various executive, financial, and investment positions at Blount, Inc., a publicly traded conglomerate.
Donnellan is a member of the 1856 Society and the James E. Foy Loyalty Society.
He and his wife, Kay, have two children.
